About

Acadiana Historical is a platform for students of history and historians who reside in Acadiana to interpret and curate the history around them; whether that history is in Louisiana or farther afield.

This project, like many others, was initiated at UL Lafayette by Dr. Robert Carriker. Dr. Carriker is a history professor at UL Lafayette where he developed the graduate program in Public History and Historic Preservation. You can read more here: www.robertcarriker.com. Carriker conceptualized this project as an opportunity for students to gain experience with a truly compelling approach to public history. If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to email him at Carriker@louisiana.edu

You can find additional information about the university here:  www.louisiana.edu  or the history department at: www.history.louisiana.edu
